U.S. Payroll Data Affected Some Countries Today and Should be Positive for All Big Emerging Economies Next Week.

 

February 3, 2012 – The big event for the week that affected stocks in some of the Big Emerging markets was today's U.S. payroll data, which was released after many of the Big Emerging Economies' markets, most importantly those in Asia were closed. China’s Regulator Publishes a List of Companies Waiting to Go Public

February 2, 2012 - In a move designed to provide more transparency, China’s securities regulator has published online a listing of companies waiting to go public in Shenzhen and Shanghai. The list will also be regularly updated.

It’s not a surprise that there are more than 500 companies on the list. But, it’s likely that most of the companies listed will never be able to go public in China. Typically companies have to wait for up to two years to go public. Then, then their ability to actually proceed with an initial public offering (IPO) is limited by regulatory review and market conditions... (Full Article) 


Americans and Europeans Migrate to China for Jobs

“Go West Young Man” was the slogan of  the last half of the 19th century in the United States. It succeeded in luring young Americans living on the Eastern seaboard to America’s western frontier. It was all about opportunities.

Is India Saying Tata To Tea?

 

Starbucks (SBUX.O) is finalizing its retail partnership with Tata Coffee Ltd (TACO.NS) and a deal is expected by the end of the month. Starbucks, the largest coffee company in the world, already buys coffee from Tata, which makes and exports plantation and instant coffee. In addition to production of its US brand Eight O’clock Coffee, Tata exports its coffees to Russia, Singapore and Japan.

February 7, 2012 - Biostar Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a China-based developer, manufacturer and marketer of pharamaceutical and supplemnt products for a variaety of diseases and conditions.
 
The Company's Chairman, Mr. Ronghua Wang, was part of China's pharmaceutical industry delegation at teh Asia Pacific (APEC) CEO Summit in Hawaii, where he spoke on the importance of cooperaiton between the United States and Chian on trade and investment, and discussed his experience as a CEO of a US listed Company.  
 
Biostar was trading at a marketcap of just under $25 million and a P/E just over 1 at yesterday's close; while most recently reporting shareholder's equity of more than $75 million.

Over the past five years the Company has developed more than 1.5 million square feet and sold in excess of 1.3 million square feet of premium commercial and residential space in areas such as Napean Sea road in South Mumbai, Andheri and Santacruz.

January 14, 2012 - Yesterday the daily trading of Asia Carbon Industries jumped to 20,000 shares. 
 
Asia Carbon Industries is a China based manufacturer of carbon black.  The principal use of carbon black is the manufacturer of tires for cars, trucks, construction equipment and agricultural equipment. 
 
Asia Carbon Industries' market cap is only $25.4 million, and on a trailing twelve months basis its PE is 3.42.  The company's earnings per share are $.15, a little less than one-third of the closing price of the company's shares yesterday...
 

 
January 15, 2012 - Jubilant Energy N.V, is an upstream oil and gas company with most of its assets in the major proven hydrocarbon basins, primarily in India. 
 

On January 10th the company announced that it successfully flow tested its third development well of the Phase-III drilling program in India’s Kharsang Field.  Drilling of the well was started on October 5, 2011 to a target depth of 1,370 meters. The company also announced that the well was put into production....

January 16, 2012 - Brazil Fast Food Corp. is the second largest fast food restaurant chain in Brazil. The company has over 846 restaurants, and operates under teh Bob's brand.  The company also opearted under KFC and Pizza Hut Sao Paulo as a franchisee of Yum! Brands. It also operates as Doggis as a franchisee of Grupo de Empresas Doggis S.A.

 

On Friday, the company's shares closed at US$11.40. The 52 week range of Brazil Fast Food Corp.'s shares is $8.03 to $16.82.  The company's market capitalization is approximately $93 million...
