Is India Saying Tata To Tea?

 

Starbucks (SBUX.O) is finalizing its retail partnership with Tata Coffee Ltd (TACO.NS) and a deal is expected by the end of the month. Starbucks, the largest coffee company in the world, already buys coffee from Tata, which makes and exports plantation and instant coffee. In addition to production of its US brand Eight O’clock Coffee, Tata exports its coffees to Russia, Singapore and Japan.

A Good Stock Market Week for Big Emerging Economies

 

 

January 21, 2012 - Most stocks of Big Emerging Economies rose on Friday, for a fourth day in a r0w. This, for the most part, was the continuation of a upward trend that began the beginning of the year, and makes the market performance since the beginning of the year the best beginning of the year since 2001.

 

The Big Emerging Economies rally appears to be a result of economic data indicating an improvement in the U.S. economy, as well as signs that the authorities in Beijing may ease restrictions on bank lending. In a possible confirmation of the Chinese banking easing, the Shanghai Securities News reported that Chinese lending by banks may increase in the first quarter of this year over the amount of lending during the first quarter of 2011...(Full Article)

January 14, 2012 - Yesterday the daily trading of Asia Carbon Industries jumped to 20,000 shares. 
 
Asia Carbon Industries is a China based manufacturer of carbon black.  The principal use of carbon black is the manufacturer of tires for cars, trucks, construction equipment and agricultural equipment. 
 
Asia Carbon Industries' market cap is only $25.4 million, and on a trailing twelve months basis its PE is 3.42.  The company's earnings per share are $.15, a little less than one-third of the closing price of the company's shares yesterday...

 
 
 
January 15, 2012 - Jubilant Energy N.V, is an upstream oil and gas company with most of its assets in the major proven hydrocarbon basins, primarily in India. 
 

On January 10th the company announced that it successfully flow tested its third development well of the Phase-III drilling program in India’s Kharsang Field.  Drilling of the well was started on October 5, 2011 to a target depth of 1,370 meters. The company also announced that the well was put into production....

 


Brazil Fast Food Corp. (US: BOBS)

 

January 16, 2012 - Brazil Fast Food Corp. is the second largest fast food restaurant chain in Brazil. The company has over 846 restaurants, and operates under teh Bob's brand.  The company also opearted under KFC and Pizza Hut Sao Paulo as a franchisee of Yum! Brands. It also operates as Doggis as a franchisee of Grupo de Empresas Doggis S.A.

 

On Friday, the company's shares closed at US$11.40. The 52 week range of Brazil Fast Food Corp.'s shares is $8.03 to $16.82.  The company's market capitalization is approximately $93 million...
